Upholding and continuing the artistry lineage of Sri Lanka, Sajitha Anthony, son of Jackson Anthony, has released an acoustic version of his hit song "Mihirawa Awa."
The beautiful and calming song is making big waves in the Sri Lankan music arena as true talents get recognized and valued each passing day through social media.
The music video also features Sajitha Anthony's wife Buvinika Halwitage, endearingly known as Buwi.
Special credits on this song has been extended to the popular singer Sanuka as well.
All the obvious political scandals and mud slinging aside, Rohita-Tatyana wedding was one of the most beautiful and talked about weddings in recent Sri Lankan history. The wedding on its own was a special spectacle, especially with the surprising ban of serving liquor at the event. On top of that, the couple was blessed in 4 different religious ceremonies, unlike anything we have seen before.
All of this buzz aside, there is a music video as well. Rohitha Rajapaksa (29), son of former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa, vocalized his love for his new bride Tatyana Livera (25). The song is titled "ඇයගේ සිනහා" roughly translated as 'her smile' in English. She does have a gorgeous smile on her at all times.
Sung by Rohitha Rajapaksa AKA Chichi, the song focuses on the bride's beauty. The video focuses on the coming through of the wedding and some amazing shots of the bride on her wedding day.
Watch the video below.
Tatyana Li came into mainstream popularity after her appearance in an infamous Sunlight soap advertisement. Rohitha had recently confessed that he has been in love with her ever since he saw that commercial on TV.
Rohitha Rajapksa is the youngest of three sons of ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa and Shiranthi Rajapaksa. He has not been involved in politics so far.
Fill T is one of the okay rappers that was produced in Sri Lanka, but he seems to be more of a sell out than an artist in the recent years. Most of his recent videos have been tagged 'controversial' for the lack of a better word to describe them.
"Malli" is yet another collection of meaningless sentences that could barely be called 'lyrics.' The worst part is the music video, which attempts to produce something sexy, but ends up to be downright hilarious and stupid to say the least.
The "Malli" video features several women who claim to be 'models,' again for the lack of a better word to describe them. Kuashi Perera and Irusha Hiruni who throw a shameful and meaningless act.
However, Fill T's plan worked as the natural boost in viral controversy pushed this music video to reach over 1 million views within a week.
Watch the video below-be prepared for some serious cringe.
Apparently Fill T and Hasini Samuel flopped hard in their latest almost-hot song and music video "Leak."
The mediocre rapper and model duo created very good viral publicity for the music video involving Hasini's wedding with Vishwa Perera. The celebrity duo managed to spread around a gossip that Hasini Samuel cheated on her husband Vishwa Perera on the very day of their wedding and Sri Lankan websites ran off with the gossip. The two appeared in a talk show 'Noize TV' on a later date and acted out that the incident was real and hinted nothing of a music video coming. However, there was rumors that the whole charade was for a music video and we waited eagerly.
The hype was built so much that when the actual song and video titled "Leak" was released, it felt as if Fill T and Hasini dive-bombed themselves.
Granted we get to see some skin and curves by the 20-year-old model Hasini Samuel. But they, too, are less than impressive. The scar on her left breast, that the makeup team chose to leave untouched, might not be everyone's cup of tea.
"Leak" song also has Hasini Samuel singing-a struggle-and sounds like a story narrative. She assumes the Sri Lankan fake posh accent to pronounce Sinhala lyrics, that are poorly written without rhythm.
Fill T's lyrics on "Leak" are almost entirely sugarcoated filth. There are metaphors on metaphors about sex, and...sex. There is probably one lyric by Fill T that makes some sense, in which he talks about the ancient Sri Lankan practice of a few brothers marrying one wife, which he states as something absurd if Sri Lankans pride themselves on 'culture.'
"එක ගෙයි කෑමත් වැරදි සංස්කෘතිය හරි නම්"
The promised excitement on "Leak" was a flop looking at the disturbing and cringe make out session by Fill T and Hasini Samuel. These make out sessions have only paved way for some hilarious memes. Fail to see how, but even the chocolate licking off of Hasini Samuel's belly isn't very appealing to say the least.
The final message by Hasini Samuel from the "Leak" video is;
"People, stop scolding, humiliating and insulting me. I am Hasini Samuel, and I continue to be the same."
Oops. Sorry for this article then. Not really fair for her to ask us to change while she promises to be the same!
Even negative publicity is good publicity. That is the motto of the celebrities. And Iraj has understood this concept well. Last year Iraj produced "Giniyam Rae (ගිනියම් රෑ)" which was so controversial that the video hit a million views within a week or so. So us perverts have watched the video at least a couple times. Iraj's whole ancestry was blamed, but in the end Iraj got a YouTube video with a million view-probably the only Sri Lankan music video to do so.
And he continues the tradition in 2017 with another 'controversial' music video. This time it's "Ashawari (ආශාවරී)", a story about a girl going into a club, getting drunk AF and ending up sleeping with multiple people.
This is quite controversial for Sri Lanka, and Iraj knows just the amount of teasing to do to get us revved up. We are shown a condom being passed on from one guy to another. At least they used protection!
Call me traditional, but I don't understand why she went to a club without her boyfriend and worst of all why did she get drunk out of her mind. Bad decisions seem to be the theme of the video. Oh also, Ashawari is shown in some nice Nike underwear. That adds to the hype too! "Ashawari" has not gained popularity as much as "Giniyam Rae" did, maybe because the latter had full on nudity and some girl-on-girl action. More perverted the video-the more views it gets. And why should we blame Iraj for that? He caters to demand! 😁 Anyway, enjoy the 'controversial' video and leave a comment on your thoughts.
Sri Lankan youth music pioneers Daddy band has released their latest work in music and this is titled "Aaley" or "Love" in English. The song saw it's music video release along with the track and everybody is asking one question: Where is Gayan? The video is not released on the official Daddy channel on YouTube but rather 'Daddyonthetube' secondary channel.
"Aaley" music video surrounds the scenes in a court proceeding where the boyfriend and the girlfriend have been put up for trial. The story looks pretty evident-she is rich and he is not so much. He succumbs to stealing to buy the Sun and Stars for the girl and gets caught.
Daddy has been a band who has never disappointed the Sri Lankan music fans. They have always come up with fresh music. In a time where it's all 'boot' songs left and right, "Aaley" comes as a much required change and hence the song is trending at #3 in Sri Lanka on YouTube.
Congrats to Daddy on another successful attempt and may the new year inspire you to create more vivid music.
